Where is it? Did you lose it? Do you have a voice? Did you every have a voice?
Yes, you have a voice.
Your voice is inside you. However, it hides behind self-doubt, insecurities or feelings of guilt.
That’s a lot of hiding going on. So, let’s find it.
You find it when you…
…send your dinner back while eating out because it’s not what you ordered.
…state your opinions during a church, PTA or business meeting and NOT doubt yourself or apologize for your opinion.
…directly and with an open mind discuss a conflict with another person.
…eat what you want at a party instead of being self-conscious everyone is judging you.
…stand up for yourself and didn’t rely on a man to do it.
…live your life the way you feel is right for you, your family and your community.
…hold your belief even if everyone in the room doesn’t believe what you do.
The above don’t come with anger or sarcasm, only with grace and empathy.
Finding your voice doesn’t silence someone else’s voice.
Finding your voice means expressing yourself to the world without fear of judgement or criticism. People may criticize and judge but you’ll know it’s more about them than you.
Finding your voice means you realize you deserve what you want, what you desire and what you NEED.
Finding your voice means you realize you are unique. You are enough. You are a valuable part of humanity and your voice is needed to make the song of the world sing.
Stand tall, stand proud, and stand confidently…
